"Know that wisdom is thus for your soul; if you find it, then there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off"
The implication is that if you do not find wisdom, then your future can be cut off and your hope will be crushed. Life is a series of choices. You are in a play in which you choose the ending. The person who is wise makes choices that bring their play to a better ending. There is pain and suffering in every life, but the thing that will rescue you is if you find wisdom. In every situation there are a few choices that are winners for everyone (except evil) and those are the wisdom choices. If you look hard, you will find them.
If I just do the selfish thing and look out for me, I can and will wall myself off from a great future. I will be cut off from the thing I hoped for.
My future is insured when I stay patient in the present. Keep looking for the triple-win and look for the opportunity God puts before me. It will come.
Never forget that there is a wise choice and that there is a good future coming if I have consistently chosen wisdom. No one is perfect, but consistent wisdom brings a good future. That does not necessarily mean a materially good one; it means a relationally good one.
