Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous increase, the people rejoice,
but when a wicked man rules, people groan.
This seems like such an obvious truth – we have all experienced it. Good government is based upon righteous people in government. Great marriages and families are inexplicably bound up in righteous people in the marriages and families.
What is amazing about this obvious truth is that it is the churches’ and pastors' jobs to produce the righteous people that do all these wonderful things that bring about our rejoicing. It is our dismal failure to produce really righteous people that has resulted in our morally degenerate society. Our discipleship methods have failed to produce righteous people who love others as they love themselves and who love God more than life itself.
We must go back and redesign our discipleship methods so that they produce righteous people and, in turn, change the nation.
Righteous actually means living the right way in the various relationships of life: God, Self, Marriage, Family, Church, Work, Money, Society, and Friends.
