Breakfast with Solomon - Proverbs 16:28

"A perverse man spreads strife and a slanderer separates intimate friends"

This is one of the basic rules of friendship. The deeper the friendship, the less you can analyze their weaknesses or their mistakes or their wrong choices or actions. If a person constantly points out – or even occasionally points out – another person’s weak spots, then the other person does not want to be their friend.

Friends, by nature, pull for you and do not try and correct you or change you. They support you in any type of change you want to make, but they do not suggest that you need to change in order to keep their friendship.

I see this rule of friendship violated all the time. Someone will share a deep secret or weakness of theirs, another person will share it with someone else, and it will separate intimate friends.

What you know about another person should not be shared with another person unless it is absolutely positive and only if they want that information shared.

Until tomorrow,
