"She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue"
wisdom
This is the Hebrew word hokma which means wisdom. Notice that this woman not only has gained wisdom; she spreads wisdom. She teaches others how to pursue the everyone-wins philosophy.
The excellent wife is a woman who spreads wisdom to others. She is aware of the triple-win orientation to life. She is able to communicate the truth that the selfish way of life is not the best life. Helping others win is the better life.
Notice that when she opens her mouth, it is wisdom that comes out. She speaks and teaches that which causes everyone to gain.
It is unfortunate that our culture is encouraging women to be selfish; to pursue what they want to the exclusion of others; to push for what they want even if it means that others are hurt by it.
kindness
This is the Hebrew word hesed which is translated lovingkindness or kindness. It is the word love, meeting needs. It is not possible to be a great woman without being able to teach the skills of looking for needs and meeting them.
One cannot make a real difference in other people's lives through selfishness. Love is essential to blessing others.
teaching
This is the Hebrew word torah which means law. The excellent wife understands the law of love and communicates it to others.
I think of when ladies get together and they talk about what they are planning to do or what they could do. Some women brag about how they pulled one over on their husbands. Some women talk about how they are doing stuff for themselves. Some women run down their husbands. But the wise woman does not do this. She understands the law of love and the joy of wisdom. She is looking for ways to meet her husband's needs so that she can enjoy a better life. She understands that if she can bless her children, they will bless her.
Are you a source of love in your family or selfishness? Do you model wisdom and love or selfishness?
Until tomorrow,
